For night blindness, the medical term is used to denote it and that is nyctalopia. It occurs due to the deficiency of Vitamin A.

There is a pigment in retina whose name is rhodopsin. Vitamin A is essential for making this pigment. When you have rhodopsin, it allows you to see in low-light or dark conditions. If you do not have enough Vitamin A, your eyes struggle to adjust to darkness.
